Angela is a narrative artist, depicting how our moods change if we interact with friends and animals or feel deeply about things. She has a particular interest in frienships between women and how the sisterhood bolsters and supports them, often depicted by paintings around the theme of joiunt experiences. The subjects search beyond mere appearance so the viewer can continue the search.
Her work is colourful and design-led with compositions where everything is transitory and fluid. Lines of connectivity run from one object to another for focus and drama.
Having worked for many years as a graphic designer and illustrator in and around London, she now paints in oils and acrylics from her Sussex studio.
Angela was elected as member of the Society of Women Artists (SWA) in 2017.
She has exhibited in Rome and America and annually in London with the SWA and at the Russell Gallery. In addition, she exhibits through online galleries, at Art Fairs and Open Studios and as a member of the Association of Sussex Artists.
Angela runs one-to-one workshops from her Horsham Studio and hosts a painting week in Abruzzo, Italy
After many years working in London as a graphic designer and illustrator - both employed and freelance, Angela spent ten years in senior marketing communication roles, finally returning to her first love of drawing & painting in 2008.
Now a narrative artist who paints idiosyncratic pictures from imagination, her paintings are design conscious in their composition whilst communicating subtle meanings.
One of the things that has interested Angela over the last few years is the depiction of unspoken communication - between people, people and animals and people and nature. She has also explored altered states such as how we feel when we fall in love, the not asleep/ not quite awake feeling etc..
Angela currently exhibits in London, and the south of England. She is now starting to gain national attention and awards. Her paintings are in private collections in England, America & Italy and attracting a growing following of her fun & colourful style.
As well as a home studio in West Sussex, Angela has a house in Italy where she paints, runs an annual painting holiday and enjoys decorating it with trompe l’oeil.
